Down by the Bay (Area), our location isn’t exactly convenient for getting some good ol’ soul food. Enter Yat’s New Orleans Original Po Boys, SF’s answer to Southern fried goodness. Sporting a menu that offers everything from authentic Southern gumbo to jambalaya, it only makes sense that the guys at Yat’s will offer to deep-fry your Thanksgiving turkey.
While this may terrify some healthy SF eaters, please ask yourselves this: Isn’t the Thanksgiving holiday one big fat excuse to pile on the pounds anyway? Doesn't the idea of a leaner-than-thou Thanksgiving plate sound a little blasphemous? So why not take your store-bought bird down to Yat’s, where they’ll deep-fry your turkey made to order. Featured options include the "Traditional Turkey" (seasoned with salt, pepper, butter, and garlic), the "Cajun Turkey" (marinated with five Cajun spices, and they promise it’s not too spicy) and the “Jerk Seasoned Turkey” (with traditional hot and spicy jerk seasoning).
And for those of you who feel utterly lost in the kitchen, Yat’s is also featuring a New Orleans Complete Turkey Dinner. It’s designed to feed the whole family (about six to eight people), and includes all of the traditional Thanksgiving meal components down to the last slice of Sweet Potato Pie.
