A woman riding her bike this morning was stuck and killed by a dump truck in Redwood City. According to KTVU, the accident, reported at "7:51 a.m. at the intersection of Shoreway Road and Holly Street," was of the hit-and-run variety. Redwood City police Sgt. Kathy Anderson said "it appears that the driver may not even be aware that he struck anyone." Also, the cyclist died at the scene.

Update: The driver of the truck has been located. According to BCN, "[t]he driver said he was not aware that he hit someone, and has not been arrested, Sgt. Eric Stasiak said."

According to police, the unidentified woman, who was in her 50s, was "on a bicycle [when she] tried to pass the truck as it turned, but she was struck and some part of the truck rolled over her."
