MUSIC: Australian jazz-minimalist trio the Necks and SF-based, ambient-ish outfit the Drift help ease you into the weekend.

7 :30 pm // Swedish American Hall (2174 Market) // $20

FILM: Everybody seems to loathe The Curious Case of Benjamin Button right now. But if you can watch it outside the of its Oscar bubble, you will find that's it's actually not that bad. It's not great, but it's not terrible. (There's always a pile-on flick during this time of year. Take, for example, Atonement, which was, in fact, a decent couple of hours spent in a theater.) That said, get off the bandwagon and check it our for yourself.

Playing at theaters throughout the Bay Area.
