What is it with Americans going oversees and losing in sports that should be ours? First it was our soccer team, then our basketball team, and now this-- Alameda's very own Craig "Hot Lixx Hulahan" Billmeier came in sixth at the Championship 2006 in Oulu, Finland Sept. 8. The first place winner was Japan's Ochi "Dainoji" Yosuke who dazzled the audience with his air guitar prowess on Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" (see the video above).

Frankly, having seen Hot Lixx in action, we think he got robbed here. Sure, Yosuke busted out the Pete Townshend windmill and scissor kicks (something SFist would know nothing about as we never, ever, air guitared windmills while listening to "The Kids Are Alright." Never, ever, ever ), but it wasn't all that. We think he just won because he had the fat guy thing: fat guys rolling around is always funny. How else would one explain Horatio Saenz? Hot Lixx had the sombrero, the aviator glasses, the obscure MASH allusion-- how could he not rock the house?

Anyways, congrats Hot Lixx and welcome back home. You did us proud.
