A burgled cache of vintage erotica, produced by Adolf himself, is the Maguffin that gets the ball rolling in "Desolation Jones," a series of comix by Warren Ellis and J. H. Williams III. The story features loads of top-notch graphic-novel grit -- fingers poked through eye sockets, sneering dirty men in tank tops, dumb blondes and crazed vixens -- and J. H. Williams III, the artist responsible for all that excess, just so happens to be be coming to town.

Isotope Comics (326 Fell @ Gough) is bringing in Williams on Friday, the 2nd, around 5 PM for what has been promised to be a "bacchinalia." Sounds promising. Interested parties may submit requests for art to isotopepromotions - at - gmail = dot - com, and Williams will choose one lucky commission to sketch. The whole shebang will be webcast, as well, for an extra gleam of futureyness. And of course, expect usual Isotopey nerdfoolery: projection screens, booze, lots of art, as well as some guests from the Dark Garden corset shop, and "other surprises" -- but if they told us any more, they'd have to kill us.
