Marketing is a weird thing. SFist has been known to fall for a good PR game in the past (we're particular suckers for nifty packaging).

M.J. Rose is an author and has been called the "poster girl of e-publishing". For her latest novel, "The Halo Effect", she's at it again - but this time we're on it because she's doing something more than trying to sell you her book.

There's been a VidLit created for "The Halo Effect". A VidLit is a sort of short video for a piece of literature. You can find the VidLit for Rose's book here.

The twist is this: For each blog entry and link to that site, Rose will donate $5 to Reading Is Fundamental (the money collected from her family, publisher and agent). The deadline to create these links is now extended to July 26th. We know there's nothing bloggers like to do more than link to things - so get to it! And if you do create a link, let us know about it in the commments. It's Thursday, it's Cares, and we're not even asking you for money!
