Unlike previous campaigns, activists at the rally held last week stressed that they were not trying to oppose the parking garage (which would be hard to do since they're more than half-way done) but in protest to the expansion of the road. The proposal to expand the road came after a judge ruled last August that there must be direct access to the garage from the park's perimeter. Following the ruling, the Golden Gate Concourse Authority came up with this plan.
