Much to no one's surprise.

Poor incumbent Migden. Won't someone please show her some love?!

Anyway, it looks like Leno, for better or for worse, might be voted "most popular" after tomorrow's votes are finally counted. If you recall, this race has, by all reports, "fueled tension in San Francisco's gay community" because--get this!--both Migden and Leno are queer. Zoinks. But we ask you, homosexual readers, have you gotten into slap fights with other gays over this race? Because, really: not so much.

Montag Supports McCain, Morgan Not Moved

The Hills' slut, Heidi Montag, has come out as a staunch <a href="http://www.blog.newsweek.com/blogs/stumper/archive/2008/04/02/John-Mc...

SF News

blogs

election

endorsement

mccain

Melanie Morgan

MTV

SF Politics

president

the hills

Brock Keeling

The Hills' slut, Heidi Montag, has come out as a staunch supporter of Senator John McCain for Prez. While this has shocked (shocked!) Hollywood to its core, and some are saying it's a reverse-psychology-ish inside job, any refugee familiar with Laguna Beach (or Laguna Beach) wouldn't be surprised. That's how folks roll in OC.

For a real-life republican's insight, we went to our favorite blog/future drinking buddy to the right, former KSFO talk show host Melanie Morgan.

Huh? We are all supposed to care whether a Hollywood actress endorses McCain or not.

BTW, who IS Heidi Montag, and who watches "The Hills"?

Don't misunderstand, I'm not trying to disparage a young Republican in the making.

I know it took some guts for her to come 'out' against the Liberal hegemony of Hollywood, but honestly! Americans can think for ourselves.

Well put, Mel.

Oh, and political differences aside, we will continue to watch The Hills. But today Gavin Newsom shined his megawatt charm over in Leno's direction today, endorsing his bid for a state Senate seat. According to the B.A.R., " Newsom [is] expected to publicly endorse Leno Wednesday night at the Herbst Theatre during a special screening of Pursuit of Equality..."

Leno is trying to dethrone state Senator Carole Migden from her Third District seat. The two bent lawmakers will go head to head during the June 3 primary. (Another election? Oh man.) San Francisco Police Commissioner Joseph Alioto Veronese and former state Assemblyman Joe Nation (who, it seems, just entered the race last Saturday) will also make an attempt to steal the seat, but neither candidate is expected to win.
