In the lawless Outerlands beyond Arguello Boulevard, where coyotes roam and river otters rip water fowl to pieces, we have two new reports meth users getting themselves arrested for some blatantly methy behavior. While it has been awhile since we've seen any reports of methy cyclists, local police are now dealing with meth users who can't seem to keep track of their car keys.

According to SFPD's Richmond Station newsletter, around 11 p.m. last Monday one man familiar to neighborhood cops was standing on the sidewalk in front of a garage on Sixth Avenue "illuminating items on the ground in front of him." After asking what, exactly, he was doing scanning the sidewalk at 11 p.m., the 28-year-old man admitted, "I have a little meth in my pocket." He also had a syringe in his pocket and was subsequently arrested for narcotics violations.

The next night, a few blocks away at Fulton Street and Third Avenue, two plainclothes officers went to check out a vehicle that appeared to be serving as someone's parkside home. When they approached, the officers found a woman and a fidgety man who were locked out of the car. The man turned out to be holding some unknown quantity of meth, which he apparently kept reaching into his pocket to check on, while his lady friend was also found to be in possession of narcotics. Another man arrived a short time later to claim the vehicle and the two suspects as friends of his, but confessed that he had lost the car keys while wandering Golden Gate Park earlier. When the third suspect allowed cops to help him get into the vehicle so they could look for his ID, they also found another cache of unidentified illegal substances. All three were booked on narcotics violations.

Ten locations, including two in San Francisco, were busted today in connection with a methamphetamine distribution setup that went from San Francisco and the Bay Area all the way to Mexico. Federal, state, and local law enforcement. In total 13 people were arrested. According to KGO:

The raids started simultaneously at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning with 200 agents moving in on the ten locations. Law enforcement was in a hurry to execute their search warrants.

"We believe it's responsible for distribution on the streets of up to 20 pounds of methamphetamine per month," says Joseph Schadler, an FBI agent.

"How much is that in street value?" asks reporter.

"A quarter million dollars[ish]," says Schadler.

On the brighter side, those black helicopters will stop spying on you. And you can quit plucking your eyelashes; there really are no radio transmitters embedded inside of them. (...or are there?)

Also, will this affect cocaine distribution? We can't say. Any DEA-knowledgeable readers out there care to tell us what the overlap is with regard to meth and coke retail sales? Will this bust make a dent in powdery substance use here in the Bay Area?
