A former landlord of Giants star Tim Lincecum has sued the two time Cy Young Award-winner for allegedly wreaking havoc upon his Mission district apartment. The landlord alleges that Timmy trashed an estimated $200,000 worth of stuff. What kind of stuff? According to reports, among the destroyed items mentioned in the suit were “bedding, doors, carpet, pillows, kitchenware, linens, furniture, household appliances, art work, decorations, patio furniture, lights, lamps, and mirrors."

Lincecum's attorney told the Chronicle that the lawsuit was "unwarranted."

The apartment in question is located at 141 Hampshire Street.

Did you really think the sinking economy would sharpen the tacks over at CitiAparements? No. No, it has not. Matt Baume over at Curbed tells the harrowing tale of supposed squalor at one SF-based CitiAparmtents building, a story you'll want to tell over a crackling fire and fresh s'mores. It seems that a CitiApartmens customer allegedly ran into all sorts of trouble in her building every since the place went on the market. A few bits of alleged sadness: "they removed most of the garbage areas," directing tenants "to drop their trash in a nonexistent basket"; water was shut off for "two weeks" in parts of the building; and insect patrolling has stopped, meaning that "cockroaches have started taking over the lower floors." But the most jarring part of all? An apartment hunter looking at the place was "quoted $1,495 for a 350-square-foot studio." Chilling. Read more about it over at Curbed.
BeyondChron's Paul Hogarth has a depressing article up about the Tenderloin's newest and ugliest building, above, offering up their street-level one-bedroom apartment for a whopping $1,500/month. For that. At Turk and Hyde. In a space where people are sure to kick in your window and sexually assault you twice a day.

BC goes on to point out that, yes, it is priceless when it comes to people watching, but the fact that this street-level space isn't being used as commercial property is a but perplexing. We can't image ever getting to sleep in that space sans the assistance of sweet Ambien.

Anyway, the place is available at the start of July. Slowly but surely, we are giving up on the idea of ever landing a one-bedroom or studio space in the TL. Sigh.

Curbed has some gorgeous shots of the new apartment building recently erected on Folsom and Second Streets. Take, for example, the bathroom above in Penthouse Unit A at BLŪ, which comes complete with marble furnishings. Isn't it divine? And divinely exotic? While many well-funded hipsters would cringe at the thought of, um, dropping the kids off in such an inviting space -- you know, the kinds of kids who live with roommates for a communal experience, not out of economic necessity? -- we would displace an entire continent of people to live here. It looks super nice, is what we're saying. Anyway, check out Curbed for more apartment shots and details on when you can start throwing money at them.
