A 3-Jackson bus plowed into the rear of a parked delivery truck Monday morning just after 11:20 a.m., leading to a small fire and several injuries, as MTA spokesman Paul Rose confirms for the Chronicle. The accident happened on Jackson Street near Scott, in Pacific Heights, and sent "plumes of smoke through the neighborhood."

The driver claimed that the bus's brakes went out, leading to the collision, according to Chron arts reporter Charles Desmarais, who happened to be on the scene.

At least three people are reportedly injured, though the extent of the injuries is unclear.

Part of Jackson Street was closed for an investigation, and it's unclear if it has reopened.

Update: According to CBS 5, Rose now says that only the driver suffered minor injuries.
