What's with all the fire lately? In a twenty-minute span this morning, between 6:10 and 6:30 a.m., three fires broke out within a mile and a half of each other, in the Excelsior, Bernal Heights, and Bayview.
The first, as Bay City News reports, was at 6:13 a.m. at 1427 Mendell Street near Third Street, at a "suspected marijuana grow house." It was quickly contained, and the grow operation is now under investigation.
The second was at 562 Banks Street in Bernal Heights, at 6:21 a.m., and was a small fire on the front porch of a home.
The third blaze, which took a little longer to contain, was at 215 Ney Street in the Excelsior, reported at 6:29 a.m., and that was not contained until after 7 a.m.
No injuries were reported in any of these fires, but can everyone please be careful? This marks (at least) six fires in the last nine days.
