The 19-year-old victim of Sunday night's shooting in front of the Westfield Mall on Market Street is expected to survive police report today. The suspect, on the other hand, has not be found.

The teen was found last night around 7:15 p.m. Sunday night suffering from multiple, life-threatening gunshot wounds. He had collapsed near the Powell Street BART station escalator and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated. The shooting caused some chaos in the food court on the lower level, which connects to the BART station underground. Parts of the mall and the BART station were closed and riders were evacuated immediately following the incident.

The suspect, who is described as a black teen in his late teens or early 20s wearing a white t-shirt fled the scene on foot and has not been found as of Monday afternoon. Police are still going through surveillance video from nearby businesses, which they hope will bring up a lead on their shooter.
