Tout Sweet, the modern patisserie inside Macy's opened last year by openly gay chef (and Top Chef: Just Desserts champ) Yigit Pura, announced today that they'll be taking orders for customized same-sex wedding cakes for couples across the state.

Also, if you order a cake between now and August 31, you'll get 20% off, and that goes for both gay couples and their "straight allies."

It's a clever promotion given Pura's high profile, and the obvious boom of gay weddings that we're already seeing statewide following on the overturning of the Prop 8 decision and the 9th Circuit's lifting of the stay just a week and a half ago.

"Whether searching for a traditional wedding cake — or something a little more fabulous — I look forward to working with couples from around the state of California on creating a one-of-a-kind cake that will be remembered by all," says Pura.

He's offering personal consultation services and cake tastings in order to allow couples to choose the right type of cake to fit their celebration — filling, frosting, whathaveyou. And they can make cakes to feed anywhere from 20 to 100 people. Also, Pura can make a mean croquembouche — a stack of French cream puffs surrounded by a web of spun sugar.
