Jovan Jones, 25, of Marin City was arrested on Saturday night after allegedly forcing his way into the apartment of a Telegraph Hill woman and then raping her. According to the Chronicle, "The 26-year-old victim was entering her residence on Alta Street at around 8 p.m. when the suspect pushed his way in ... Once inside, Jones allegedly forced the woman to the floor and threatened to kill her, before demanding money and sexually assaulting her."

After a neighbor called 911, the suspect "jumped off of a balcony and ran." He was later found cowering in the backyard of a residence on Green Street, where he was arrested an hour and a half after the attack.

He was booked in San Francisco County Jail and charged with "burglary, robbery, aggravated assault, rape and false imprisonment, as well as one misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest and delaying a police officer."

Jones was recently released on $5,000 bail on a bench warrant arrest for a battery case.

Saturday's attack comes on the heels of Friday night's march against rape in the Mission.
