The victim who ended up on life support after a huge, 20-person street brawl broke out at 16th and Valencia Streets after last call Tuesday morning has been identified as 39-year-old Caesar Chuc, a much-loved cook at the popular Serpentine in the Dogpatch. According to friends, Chuc had been working to support his wife and four children back in Mexico.

A co-worker at Serpentine believes Chuc may have been targeted by thugs in the Mission who know restaurant workers tend to carry a lot of cash. Details around the early morning fight are still sketchy. SFPD do not suspect the fight was gang related, but NBC reports police are currently on the lookout for five suspects in the incident.

As for the approximately 15 or so other witnesses, police and Chuc's restaurant family are all hoping one of them will come forward with more details. Anyone with any details can and should call SFPD's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411.

Sadly, the street fight follows another tragic incident in the local restaurant community in which a chef at Hog & Rocks in the Mission was shot and killed by a suspected gang member last year.
