Truck Driver Hits Cyclist At Oak & Franklin In Hayes Valley

A cyclist rests at SF General Hospital today with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a truck on Tuesday afternoon. According to Streetsblog, the driver ran a red light. SFGate, however, reports that the truck driver allegedly stopped at a blinking red light before plowing into the cyclist. "The accident happened at Franklin and Oak streets about 2:30 p.m. when the truck driver stopped at a blinking red light, then made a right onto Franklin. The truck hit the bicyclist, who was riding on Oak in the opposite direction and had a green light."

The driver who hit the bike rider "cooperated with officers."
