Temporary Mayor Ed Lee Won't Run, Say Matier & Ross

In Sunday's tag-team column, Chronicle columnists Matier & Ross hounded Temporary Mayor Ed Lee for a hard answer on whether or not he'll play along with the two former city supervisors behind the Run, Ed, Run campaign. Perhaps feeling a fraternal connection to the two mustachioed columnists, His Impermanency explained he will be keeping his distance from the Draft Ed Lee campaign because those guys are "like shark fin soup." That could either mean Ed Lee sees a mayoral campaign as a tricky issue which could end in political suicide, or he believes running for a full term would boost his sexual potency and enhance his skin quality. Hard to say which one he meant, really. Lee later told Jim Gonzalez, one of the former supes behind the campaign, "I don't need it," referring (presumably) to said Draft Ed lee campaign and not magic virility soup. [Chronicle]
