Ike's Place -- the Castro sandwich shop shut down by the city for obnoxious crowds and improper paperwork, among other things -- may open in its new location at 16th and Sanchez streets as early as Saturday afternoon. (Though a weekend cold opening might be "iffy.") It currently sells sandwiches out of Lime, but will shutdown that operation at 2 p.m. today, reports the Examiner.

The new place will be able to accomodate larger crowds. Owner Ike Shehadeh noted on his the store's Facebook page: "It's officially official. Ike's Place @ Lime will close today at 2pm so that we can move to our permanent location at 3489 16th Street. Right across the way from the Original Ike's between Sanchez and Church. We will be having our Grand Opening week starting Mon April 11! Thank you so much to everyone that made this possible, including you--yes, YOU! I appreciate you all so much!"

Welcome back to the fray, Ike! May your new neighbors be kind and your paperwork in proper order.
