Saturday's Giants FanFest event drew record crowds, upwards of 40,000 people, which was double the previous years' average of 20,000. The park filled up so quickly at the start of the festivities that security had to close the gates for an hour to wait for the crowd already inside to disperse. The Giants asked fans via Twitter and Facebook to stay home if they hadn't left yet. The lines at some autograph stations were reportedly nearly three hours long.

Fans reportedly shrieked at the sight of each and every Giants player, coach, and broadcaster at the park on Saturday. The Giants' senior vice president of communications, Staci Slaughter, told MLB.com, "Every player was like a Beatle today."
