Just like last year and the year before that, Bay to Breakers organizers promise to enforce new rules. These stricter rules will, hopefully, stop non-registered participants (like Gavin Newsom) from crashing the course without proper payment and halt drunk bartrash from peeing on city streets.

"Race spokesman Sam Singer says the number of people who can register for the race also will be capped at 50,000," Associated Press (via Mercury News) reports. "The new rules were made final Thursday after organizers met with the mayor's office, neighborhood groups and police."

Floats and alcohol are also technically banned from next year's race.
