Is hell frozen over? If we here at SFist are wondering if one of San Francisco's major dailies is going to end up sued for calling suspects "goons" and "thugs" -- and describing reported crimes as fact, not allegation -- then it must be opposite day. Recently, Mike Aldax at SF Examiner has been delivering aggressive (albeit well-written and amusing) crime reports. Behold:

On a teenage robbery suspect whose attempt to disappear fails, Aldax writes:

"Hardly the master of disguise, one teenager’s bumbling attempt to evade police after slashing a woman with a knife during a robbery in San Francisco on Wednesday won’t soon earn him super-villain status."

And:

"The goon ended up caught and carted to the Juvenile Justice Center."

Reporting on a former S.F. firefighter accused of sexual assault, he notes:
