Expect Muni Delays This Morning

munisfistdelay.jpg

While heading to UCSF Parnassus, Leanne Maxwell tells us that there was a bit of a Muni meltdown this morning. According to reports, the J, K/T, L, M and N were affected due to a train control system snuafu, which has since been resolved. Muni spokersperson Judson True tells Appeal, "the problem with the train control system has been resolved and all Muni Metro lines have returned to automatic operation."

Delays, however, will continue throughout the morning.

Grumble! Grumble! So much for getting to work early... but I got to walk on a lovely day, so was not too bad.

Yes, they have returned to normal operation...and the cars are absolutely packed with people. L trains at 9:15 overflowing with people.

Highly irritating.

How is that different from normal?

Since I was late to work I can usually count on there being enough room to get on a train - and maybe even have a seat; not necessarily, but at least be able to walk inside the car.

Not today. Had to wait for two trains to pass before I could push my way in to at least get inside the car.

And there were announcements "Please allow people to get out of the train before boarding."

Please fuck off, MUNI.

this reply was intended for Xenu above...WTF...is MUNI running the comments section today too?

this happens on fridays a lot...

Expect Muni Delays Every Morning

It's friday the 13th. OF COURSE Muni had a big ol' failwhale of a good time this morning.

Look for more fun when they close the N for the weekend to put in new tracks. And don't forget the cuts coming in 3 weeks!!! fun and joy everywhere!!

Oh, it sure doesn't look like it's over to me. Eight non-communicating trains outbound from Embarcadero to Van Ness. Service is going to be fucked at least until this afternoon.

Sorry, there's still no auto train control between Powell and Van Ness outbound. Yay for friday the 13th.

doesn't explain why busses which don't use the computer control system were also messed up

for the 3rd time this week there were only 2 busses on the 48 line between 7:30 and 9am going inbound, and listed with 75minute wait on the outbound too. i've already spent as much on cab fare this week as i did on my muni pass ... :(

at least when i worked in the city i could just go "hey, muni's fucked up" and nobody would care, in fact half of the company would be late

but now that i'm commuting south, it's really frustrating. the caltrain crew doesn't fuck around, if i'm not at the station by 8:50 i'm SOL. and if i get to work late i go "yah, muni's fucked up" and they are like "are you kidding?? you take public transit?? LOL" like it's the zaniest idea they ever heard

Ehm, because MUNI is run by MUNI which owns MUNI and like everything else in this decaying town, MUNI doesn't care if you have a job, pay your taxes or even bother to try and ride their buses.

They don't answer to anyone. When things get screwed up, eff you and your monthly pass - get out and walk, take a cab or essentially, as they say back in London, go piss off. When some loony bin punches you in the head, oops, sorry those cameras don't work.

MUNI should be run by an oversight committee of people who use it, not jackoffs like well...who run it and take their Beemers and S-Class to private, publicly paid for underground, testicle (sorry - this is SF - vaginal too!) massaged parking.

Let me know when you see any of these overpaid jackasses riding the system they are supposed to be running. Let's take photos of them riding the system they pillage from and where they park.

Tom Nolan couldn't locate a fare box if it hit him in his dumpy elderly ass. I'm not just harping on him - but look at that list of political appointees and get their license plate numbers. Not a single one owns a MUNI pass or has actually ridden in it within the past 40 years and I will guarantee you that not a single one of them owns anything less than a primary vehicle worth $50,000.

Ever seen Roberta Boomer or Jerry Lee on the 49. Hell no. They don't even know if the 15 is the 12 or the 20 or that the 68 replaced the 43 and now runs directly into Marin.

Elderly appointees who take limos where they need to be. Nothing more than old useless fools who are gaming the system and taking our money.

Cripes, I'm just going to change my screen name to "threadkiller"

the eff...
