The skies above San Francisco just got a little quieter. According to SFAppeal/BCN, "Heavy fog in San Francisco caused the cancellation of today's Blue Angels air show, a spokeswoman for Fleet Week said." The show was scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
The Blue Angels, it seems, "are not allowed to be flown in air shows when fog has settled below 1,500 feet."
Sunday's jet show is still planned for 3 p..m -- unless, of course, fog intervenes again.

There was ZERO fog. What bullshit.
It has been foggy in the Outer Sunset for two days. No blue sky.
bears have also been known to be recently shitting in the woods
Surely not in Sir Francis Wood?
You understand that the 1500 foot fog level is for the entire area they'll be flying over?
chris daly is doing a rain dance right now
There was some fog west of the GG Bridge, and some seeping through. Heavy fog, though, no.
fingers crossed for fog again tomorrow.
They must be reading my comments.
I remember as a kid when the USS Missouri came to San Francisco and I got a special ticket to tour the active warship and watch the Blue Angels on the deck, but... they had to cancel the air show, but the ship cruised around the Bay.
Well it's Sunday and despite the fog at the last minute I decided to ride my bicycle down to Pier 39. Glad I did, first time, in the over the decade I've lived here, I went....
and they flew a show, though a low level one. Got down there just in time and found a good spot to sit on my bike and watch the show.
Totally enjoyed it and am looking forward to next year.
