Eater brings us word that Mission district ice cream it girl Humphry Slocombe experienced its very first Yelp bullying. (Aw. You always remember your first.) Humphry Slocombe's Twitter message describes the assault: "Our 1st Yelper shakedown! Yelp girls to me: 'We're gonna order then yelp about it-what discount can you give us?' Me: 'Your joking right?'" The Yelp girls were immediately clocked across the face, then tossed out of the establishment. OK, not really. Because that would be mean and illegal. But, wow, that's pretty ballsy, Yelpers. Hopefully, Humphry Slocombe gave them the boot. Shameless, people. Really. That said, any other local business out there experience this kind of abuse from (alleged) Yelp users? If so, did you cave in?

I'm going to go on the record and say I would much rather get knocked around by Dottie the sweetheart of the Sweet Cart as opposed to the very nice folks at Humphry Slocombe.
I charge extra for that.

Haggling is fine ... though you have to be one cheap SOB to try to haggle on $3.50 or whatever that delicious secret breakfast single scoop sells for. If anything, I'd be miffed if I were Jeremy over at Yelp.com and people were trying to use Yelp.com to do their haggling ... gimme a break.
Kind of bold/stupid to try to 'sell' a positive review to a business that has 4.5/5 stars on Yelp and over 560 reviews.

One time I was in a cafe somewhere and some raggedy fauxmeless kid came in wanting to use the restroom. They told him it was for customers only and after a few minutes of arguing he stormed out shouting "One star on yelp!".

We pray YELP goes bankrupt and sinks to the bottom of hell, and takes its MAFIA YELPERS with them. We pray that GOD shows no mercy for all the damage and EXTORTION they have inflicted upon small business owners and the children they support. YELP is a den of snakes and deserve to BURN for the lies and slander they spread on the web.
