Oh oh.
Also, remember when San Francisco artists used to know that they lived in a city with grime and/or grit? Granted, Valencia Street is, for better or for worse, an affectedly edgier Pacific Heights as of late; but it's still in the Mission, so tagging is pretty prevalent. Then again, who knows -- maybe this will do the trick?
Hat tip: Mission Mission

I like the approach, even if it is seems futile. Reminds me of the tone Lucky 13's message in their bathrooms about scrawling in the Jon.
I dunno. Nothing like being told not to do something to make doing it attractive, especcially if it's coupled with insults. We'll see.
While I don't think that the letter is going to find its target, I do think that Camp is right; it's lame bullshit to tag the way that have on Clarion. Before you come down on the letter-writer, take a stroll thru the minefield and judge for yourself, it's not pretty and it's certainly pointless.
Nice approach. I hope it works. If it does not, I suggest that we shoot all taggers on-site.
"the stuff i paint on public walls is more important than the stuff you paint on public walls"
I could be completely wrong, but I think the salient difference is that the Clarion Alley people paint with the permission of the wall's owner.
property is theft!
Say goodbye to the Clarion Alley pieces. The note cleanly expresses who is a peer of whom, or not, as the case may be. CAMP got trolled and fell for it.
Whereupon the pot, having informed the kettle of its ebony hue ...
I like that CAMP is blind to that fact he's representing the establishment.
what are you talking about, didn't you see where he used the term "bitch ass?" that there is a lesson in the strength of street knowledge.
In their way, the taggers represent the establishment, too. An act of rebellion as predictable as tagging is now an expected part of the order of things, an advertisement for the authenticity of the city to creative types like yourselves. I suppose it's fair to criticize CAMP for enjoying the glamour of graffiti while expected their work to be protected, but aren't some things worth protecting even if they weren't made to last?
No.
Your elders are taking names
Did they have to bring the mormons into it?
Perhaps it should have been in Spanish as well?
Get off my lawn!!
It's cute that they think taggers read.
