Video: Bay Bridge Construction and Full Moon Time Lapse

Captin_nod
put together this mesmerizing video featuring time-lapse photography of yesterday's ongoing Bay Bridge construction and the rising of last night's very lovely full moon.

You can also check out these Bay Bridge 360 live video cams all weekend.

In related news, SF Appeal reports that yesterday was BART's second highest day of ridership ever, and the transit agency has also apparently embraced social networking.

Everything goes better with a backbeat.

CC Myers rocks. My favorite quote from the man himself, in some documentary or another about the Bay Bridge: I think one KRON did, he was asked what he thought about the tower design. Of course, the politicos switched to the tower design in the middle of the project just because the tower looked cool. "Hell, I'll give you a tower for $20 million", said CC, realizing he could just slap a largely symbolic, cool-looking tower on the existing causeway design, which was billions cheaper and would have cut years off the project.

You know what else would've sped up the process? The LA contingent of the Legislature NOT dicking around trying to make the Bay Bridge fix a "local issue" even though the Northridge freeway repairs were a state issue.
