According to a few frantic Twitter messages this morning, a moving van plowed into the side of a building, either near Dolores Park or somewhere in the Tenderloin.

cbs5: "Just In: moving van crashes into building on Turk St at Gough in SF. Gas leak possible."

KCBSNews: "In SF: 18 wheeler crashes into building No injuries and gas leak has been shut off . Engrs will check structure now tho."

cbs5: "Correction: van into building at 942 Church St. SF Rescue crews calling for experts to check structure for safety."

Emergency_In_SF: "A moving truck just drove completely into a residence on the 900 of Church. Building Inspector and SFFD on scene. Unknown injuries."

Yipes. Careful out there on the road, big wheel drivers. Anyway, according to CBS5's latest message, It happened at 942 Church, and Emergency_In_SF claims the same. But we'll update with more info as it comes to us.

Update: ActionNewsSF snapped this shot of the scene. Wow, is right.

How does one confuse 21st & Church with Turk & Gough? Is it possible there were two separate incidents?

twitter exacerbates the age old newsie's dilemma about being first or being right.

You are right about that.

New dilemma: Should they update Twitter if there is nothing to link? (Similar to if a tree falls in the woods...)

As for how the two got confused: Turk sounds a little like Church.

Turk sounds a little like Church.

After about four gin & tonics!

First is always best. I have the story, more or less. Dolores Heights crash at 947 Church St.

That will make unloading the van a lot easier!

That house is in the worst possible spot. It's right on the other side of the street from the end of a 25 or something percent grade. Looks like the truck lost brakes on Hill Street and rolled through Church right into the living room.

Not exactly the free media Corrib Moving was searching for, me thinks.

What's with all the Irish moving companies in town?

i guess these folks thought it would be easier to just put the truck in the house instead of taking the stuff out.

Was the building even wearing a helmet?
