The Fixed Gear Bike is Officially Dead -- Long Live the Fixed Gear Bike

Of all the chain stores catering to the pseudo-countercultural, it must be admitted that Urban Outfitters is a notch above Hot Topic, if only because Urban Outfitters is usually a stand alone store, found in urban centers, and not some outlet one can find in any random suburban shopping mall. Still, a purveyor of cutting edge culture, Urban Outfitters is most definitely not. That's why it was quite pleasing to learn this morning that Urban Outfitters now sports a bike shop where any 12 year old, Fremont dwelling, wannabe hipster can order a fixed gear bike of their very own. Now that's the way to completely suck the cool out of an annoying trend! Yay, Urban Outfitters! Ha ha, urban hipsters!
