San Jose just got a little less unsightly. Today, a groundbreaking ceremony took place for the BART extension, which will bring Silicon Valley a little bit closer to the Bay Area. Carl Guardino, CEO of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, the guy who led the campaign to bring BART to the area, had this to say, "This groundbreaking signifies that BART is on the way. Finally, after a 50-year wait, we're not only [bringing] BART to Warm Springs in Fremont, that construction is underway, we're bringing BART all the way to Milpitas, San Jose and Santa Clara." Kudos, San Jose. Oh, and here are the rules: You're more than welcome to shop at the Westfield San Francisco Centre, but stay away from Bloomingdale's section; that side is for locals only. Nordstrom, however, is all yours.
