Film du Jour: "Flash Mob" Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)

Here's a clip of a gaggle of ladies performing Beyoncé Fosse-esque routine to "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" in London's Piccadily Circus. Pretty nifty, right?

Also, the Flash Mob zaniness doubles as an ad for Trident Gum. Pretty sneaky, right? (See, no one is immune to the power of advertising. Even you, trustifarians. )

Enjoy.

Love it. Almost makes me want to get a sex change, plastic surgery, and a black leotard so I could look good doing this.

This is great. Why does it remind you of trustifarians?

eh, the grand central station one was what, a couple of years ago?

I thought rule #1 of flash mobs is that they happen for no apparent reason. Isn't that where the "flash" part comes in?

This is just a mob. Nice try, Trident/Beyonce.

f trident...more like a comm for TDK and Sanyo

I can imagine 12 guys in suits in a meeting throwing around the words viral and flashmob and youtube and really not quite getting any of it but hiring some good dancers.

Yeah, considering they all have identical outfits (including coats and shoes) and they're clearly both qualified dancers and well-choreographed it certainly feels like some sort of professional, and thus likely to be promotional, thing.
