Further proof that gingers are crafty devils, former Valleywag editor Nick Douglas is (allegedly) being paid $50,000 by HarperCollins for a book on his Twittering capabilities. Specifically, his book, Twitter Wit, will be a "collection of other people's microblogging posts."

When asked about poring over all the many tweets fit for publishing, Douglas tells Valleywag that is was "like watching five hours of porn: your sense of humor dies halfway through." If you think your Twitter comments are print-publishing worthy, you can send him your tweets here.

In related news, former Valleywag scribe and ex-SFist editor Jackson West would like to write an article on Twitter. Spare some change, won't you?

Truly a sign that we are in for a new crash: when people write books about online posts. (Remember the FuckedCompany.com book?)

I'd like to be the Tofurkey Saugage in the middle of a Brock & Nick sandwich!

It's the social networking business model—your content making money for someone else. Who's going to be the first twit to sue him?
