Demonstration Planned for Murder of Oscar Grant

dreadlocks_pictures.jpg

Seeing as how "the relationship of the police officer and the civilian is perverse," at least according to the good folks over at IndyBay, there will be a demonstration against the police murder of Oscar Grant on Monday, January 12 (today!) at 5 p.m. at the Civic Center BART station. "The kids in Oakland know how to party. Let's show them they are not alone," they go on to say. Good grief.

Note: if parked near Civic Center BART, move car before 5.

Also Note: Take subway home tonight.

Also note: Cute hippy chicks are cute. Bring dank nugs.

Addendum: Bring Claritin. She owns four cats and lives in a studio apartment.

Never go with a hippie to a second location.

glad i had that steam cleaner installed last week...

"Let's get sushi and not pay!"

Haha, great stock trustifarian photo!

Lighting shit on fire really gets the public on your side about your "outrage".

Oh goodie! Now Nia Sykes doesn't have to commute to mock the destruction of small businesses. Here's hoping there's an African braids shop near Civic for her to point and laugh at.

Hey, is that a picture of Dumpster Muffin?

Also, re: the protest: Will there be soup?

I vote for a change of venue. There aren't any stores worth looting at Civic Center. Let's move it down to Powell St. I need a new MacBook Pro.

The protest is not with SF. Why do it here? This is going to deplete a budget already depleted of funds. This protest only hurts the poor, sick and homeless by taking food out of their mount, shelter from their heads and treatment from their bodies.

Lots of overtime pay for the police however!

The point is to illuminate it as a larger problem and to get more people involved. Whether or not you agree with this strategy, is this news?

I agree. Spend money on things that matter. Getting involved won't change the past. The only thing they will do is instate greater control, temporarily, then wait for the bad press to blow over.

hey, man, keeping the man off your back is more important than any of that bourgeois stuff. why you gotta be such a buzzkill?

That's true but it can probably be done more intelligently.

An anarchist is just a law-and-order conservative who hasn't been mugged yet.

I see from the IndyBay link that the primary problem is that apparently the cops are not "elected" and are able to wield their unelected power over the rest of us. So the solution is to have cops run for office?

And here I thought the primary problem with the SFPD was their incompetent inability to solve crimes. Who knew?

It's a nitpick, but until the guy is convicted you should really say "alleged" murder.

Be sure to wipe up with a few Kleenex tissues after you're done.

Maybe the dumpster muffin just needs to "touch the magic" at Market Street Cinema. shrug
