This week "Surivor: Gabon" was a clip show, and the only new thing we learned about Sugar was that prior to the show, she had a septum nose ring. Thrilling. So let's move on to "Top Chef," and Jamie Lauren, a chef at Absinthe in San Francisco.
Quickfire Challenge! With guest judge Grant Achatz. The challenge was to put "their own spin" on a recipe assigned to them from the Top Chef cook book. La la la they're going along, when Padme comes in, yells at them to stop, and then announces forget it, she'd rather have soup. Ha! So the chefs then had to make a soup with the ingredients from their former recipe, with the help of some conveniently placed Swanson's broth. Jamie's recipe was Miguel's "deconstructed falafel," but since she just LOOOOOVES making soup, she didn't see this as being too difficult to do. She made a chickpea soup with pickled chiles, yogurt, and crispy shallots. Achatz was impressed, but not enough to give her the win.
The Elmination Challenge was to make a Thanksgiving dinner for....the Foo Fighters. WTFoo? And not just the Foo Fighters, but also 60 of their entourage, of which several were vegetarians. When they got to the arena where the show would be held, the chefs found out their kitchen was outside, and they'd have to use microwaves and toaster ovens to cook their food. Also, for the record, the Foo Fighters like frozen chocolate covered bananas, and bacon. Not necessarily together.
Jamie was part of "Team Sexy Pants" (gag) and their menu consisted of: Butterball turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, side salads (Jamie's dishes), pumpkin tiramisu, and fruit crisp. Basic and boring.
The Foos ate of Team Sexy Pants second. They liked their stuffing and the sweet potatoes, but preferred the other team's turkey. They also seemed to like Team Sexy Pants' desserts more than Team Cougar's. In the end, Team Sexy Pants won, meaning Jamie was safe for one more week, though she almost deserved to be voted off for wearing a hideous forehead-braid-band to the Foo Fighters show. For the record, Richard had to pack his knives and go, which leaves "Team Rainbow" at one lone member: Jamie.

Don't forget Rincon Hill resident Gurbaksh Chahal appears in FOX's Secret Millionaire, premiering Wednesday at 8pm ...
Don't worry, I'll definitely be tuning into that, even though I think the whole thing sounds a little reprehensible.
