Known as one of the only places in SF where you can get Cheese on a Stick, SFPD couldn't control the scene San Francisco's Stonestown Galleria this morning. It seems popular 22-year-old British actor Robert Pattinson -- who played Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies, and most notably stars as a humpable vampire in "Twilight" -- caused a mini riot.
In line for today's "Twilight" book signing, one fan was trampled on while waiting to see the star with magical hair, and another "had her nose broken as a result of being crushed up against the front doors to the mall."
Around 200 to 500 teenagers and their families -- some of which had come from as far as Hawaii, Los Angeles and Arizona - were expected to line up for this evening's star sighting. In reality, thousands, it seems, showed up.
Update: SFist reader Melaine reports to us that as of 10 a.m. "there are hundreds of goth teens lined up outside of Hot Topic in Stonestown" -- oh God, please, someone get us a photo of Goths paired with Hot Topic -- "waiting for a twilight book signing, but ... it's been canceled and police have been called in."

He looks like Marcel from "Top Chef." Where's the foam?
wait...i am intrigued by this cheese on a stick...which place carries it? is it the hot dog place (you know primary colors galore!)
Hot Dog-on-a-Stick carries it. And it is most delicious.
Fantards scare the shit out of me.
Hmmm... do I really want to get lunch at Stonestown today? (I work at SFSU) Or get trampled by a bunch of nutcase fans?
Mmmmmm, cheesy goodness. I must gather my passport and travel to this Stonestown land to taste for myself.
That guy has some real top notch skin
that cheese on a stick photo is vaguely obscene but not offensively so. I mean, come on, it's cheese.
I'm hearing from barely reliable sources that a hefty contingent of wishful thinkers are orbiting the mall in the hopes that Hot Topic and Mr. Pattinson suddenly change their mind and hold the event. Yeesh.
I love me some cheese-on-a-stick, too bad Stonestown is a little too out of the way for me most of the time...
Anyway, my goth/industrial-inclined brother loves to talk shit about Hot Topic right before he goes in and takes a gander at their t-shirts and shoes. :/
I don't like Twilight or Harry Potter or Robert Pattinson for that matter (read his interviews.. megadouche!) but for the love of god, I must run my hands through his hair before I die. Guuughgughg.
Who? Thousands of people showed up to see some nobody?
Wow, I should start signing autographs. Look at me everybody, I'm a celebrity!
I'll fess up: I've read Twilight #1 again to get ready for the movie. What? I'm in a book club, ok?
I'm loving that what's-his-face caused rioting. My roommate things he's hideous, but I disagree!!
It's unfortunate the movie will probably bomb (like Golden Compass). I heard about the reshoots...
