In the spirit of change, Bush Street got a makeover over the weekend. We suspect Hogarthian vandals at work here.
Update: Tim Redmond has the scoop: This is the work of local artist Alex Zecca. It seems Zecca "managed to get all the way from Presidio to Grant" with this rechristening effort before the fuzz made him remove all the stickers. Heh.

20 years ago we renamed it "Dukakis" street....
That's funny!
I still remember "puppet" street four years ago.
I've always loved how the stop announcement voice on the northbound 27 says, "Bu-ush" in disdain.
I'm confused by that picture. I live at the corner of the 2900 block of bush street and that's not what it looks like?
@Ylime
I saw it yesterday at around 3pm. It was there. The photo does it justice by hiding the seems of the sticker. Still though, hilarious.
(See you guys in line early tomorrow at Cafe Neon)
What intersection did you see it at? Like I said, I live at that corner and that's not what it looks like.
Yeah, street views says that's not what it looks like too.

Ylime, the street wasn't actually renamed "Obama."
so...my apologies for not making that crystal clear.
I realize the street is not named obama street.
The confusion where that photo was taken. If it was actually taken at the 2900 block it wouldn't look like that. I suspect it was taken at the end of the street and the 2900 is the mistake, the sign should actually read end.
I was on the corner of Lyon and Bush.
2.3 miles! Pretty impressive.

Just confirmed my suspicions, the signage on bush is correct...the above photo, was not taken on bush street. I don't know what intersection that is, but it's definitely not the 2900 block of bush street.
brilliant!!
Maybe the sign was changed back to Bush. I took a similar picture of the 4900 block of 19th St at Castro which had been renamed Obama St. the day after the election (not sure if sign is still up).
