The above footage was recorded last week in Oakland near the Lake Merritt vicinity. Meredith Yayanos -- who must have nerves of steel to have immersed herself in this ignorant mess, so kudos to you, Meredith -- says, "I was on my way home from the Lakeshore district when I encountered this group of supporters of Prop 8 (proposition to ban gay marriage). After turning my vidphone on, I was screamed at, physically intimidated, and eventually attacked by one of the sign-wavers."
Charming. And scary.
The footage is a bit low re graphic-resolution clarity, but crystal clear insofar as what Prop 8 actually means. Oh, and be sure to watch this with the entire family.

I live near El Camino Real and a group of supporters of 8 lined the street.
My advice: bring your dog with you, and stand next to them with your NO on 8 sign. Trick is the dog, even tho mine is 16, deaf and scared of everything.
oh man i went down to the south bay over the weekend to visit some people, and there were YESon8 banners everywhere. Along the highway, in front yards, in cars, posted on windows of restaurants. it was insane. i wanted to throw something at all of them.
I live in the Lake Merritt area of Oakland and I have to pass those douche-nozzles on my way home from work.
The first time I passed them I gave them the finger. You would.not.believe the un-christian things that come out of their filthy cunt-mouths.
The really scary part is how young these fuckers are. They seem to be teenagers for the most part. I can't imagine that they have any kind of grasp of how serious this issue is. They just spew the hate rhetoric that they have been taught. I almost feel bad for them. Then I think of how they want me to be a second class citizen. That is when I wish for gas tankers to crash right where they are standing and vaporize them all.
Until that happens, I will continue to roll down my window, give them the finger and tell each one of them to go fuck themselves, even the young ones.
That is just terrifying, what a brave woman.

I moved out here to get away from shitheads like this. It's so funny when people from back home make jokes about "CA land of fruits and nuts" and I tell them: no, there are plenty of people in California who are just as racist, bigoted, and ignorant as you are.
