Price is Right Reject Causes Bomb Scare in SF
Reason for today's 275 Battery shutdown and bomb scare? Yep, "The Price is Right" is at fault. Naturally. As SFist commenter Jackd tells SFist:
some guy went up to the law firm on the 29th floor of the building and handed the receptionist a note explaining why he was pissed off because he didn't get on The Price is Right. Yes, you read correctly, THE PRICE IS RIGHT! I guess she saw some wires around or near his wrist and she called the Bomb Squad. They caught the guy, but swept the rest of the building just in case.
In the insane person's defense, Plinko does look like loads of fun.

Here's a quick update....employees are still waiting to get back into the building. They said it could be another hour before they let them back in. Might as well go home at this point...unless you're headed to Hayward...in that case you may want to wait a bit, grab a drink and see what the update is on that situation.
Ahhh, got to love Mondays.
wait...what?
Why would someone go into a law office in SF to complain about not being a contestant on the Price is Right game show?
That's all kinds of crazy!
As a Plinko participant with Bob Barker 3 years ago, I gotta say it's totally worth getting on the show.
Now causing a bomb scare because you didn't get on... that's probably not gonna booster your odds for your next attempt to 'come on down.'
Looks like he was at the offices of Lieff Cabraser, big time trial lawyer/class-action firm. Maybe he thought they would take up his case and sue CBS for wrongful non-appearance on a game show.
CallMeBert, please describe in painstaking detail what it was like, what Bob was like, if you won. That's awesome.
You lived the dream, CMB.
@ work but to summarize:
- waited on line 13 hours
- got called up in first group
- got on stage on second item for bid ($1200 on crystal stemware)
- got the 1 free chip and only 2 of 4 of the extras cause I suck
- staircase is rickety
- the dollar amounts are written on duct tape when you are looking down from the top of the board
- chip 1 - $10,000
- chip 2 - $10,000
- chip 3 - $0
Tips: Hold the chip as far down the board as you can and aim just to the right of the first spike
fantastic. thanks! (and sorry about the $0. plinko, she is fickle.)
20K, good for you!
Now... when will my lotto numbers show up?
Wow. Coincidentally, "Come On Down! The Road to 'The Price Is Right' premieres this Saturday at the SF Doc Fest.. (and NO, we did not orchestrate this sweet publicity stunt, we just got lucky- and thankfully everyone in the incident is safe!!!) Thank goodness they took disgruntled bomber man into custody.
Anyways, please come check out the film!

CallMeBert - you DID stay at the charming Farmer's Daughter, didn't you!
DIDN'T YOU!
dolemite, please tell me you're dressing up as a plinko board. That would be soooooooo awesome.
@kristinester.
My friend was a working Plinko board in college and it was huge. Walking around was slow-going cause everyone wanted to drop the plinko down including some now famous athletes. good times.
But, yeah, I'd really just be dipping into the Halloween war chest of old. But I that's OK since I have no other ideas.
This is the best photo I could find. circa 2000.

@dolemite43: Beat me to it. Too bad Castro isn't happening this year ...
Hm, I'd at least have thought the contestant would have been rejected from some modern show ... or some reality crap.
