Former Hewlett-Packard CEO, Republican, and moody bitch Carly Fiorina attacked Tina Fey's impersonation of VP candidate Sarah Palin as sexist because "it portrayed the Alaska governor as lacking in substance." The skit aired on Saturday Night Live this past weekend to much acclaim.
Fiorina tells CNN that "[t]he portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin, and so in that sense, they were defining Hillary Clinton as very substantive, and Sarah Palin as totally superficial," going on to say that the skit was "sexist in the sense that just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance."
Wow.
Actually, the skit slammed Palin as lacking substance because a) she has little of it compared to Clinton, who has been in the public eye since the 1990s, and b) SNL has too much tact to make fun of retarded babies. Now go in the kitchen and make us some breakfast, Carly
Oh, and you can watch the opening skit in question here.

That first line just made me laugh and laugh. You have a knack for them.
"it portrayed the Alaska governor as lacking in substance."
I had no idea that being a beauty pageant contestant or sports reporter required substance.
Ex HP CEO. As in shit-canned. As in shown-the-door. As in failed. As in had-no-clue-how-the-HP-cult-of-the-engineer-worked. As in bought-Compaq-against-the-wishes-of-just-about-everyone-at-HP. As in rubbish.
Carly is an idiot. Is that sexist?
if it's said against someone on the right, then yes.
Hm. Odd. They could have just let it die.
Why keep it going another 3 or 4 news cycles? Why make a prominent female campaign spokesman look like a (forgive me) tard?
They must know something I don't. Maybe it gins up the base.
Oh Carly how I love you for ruining HP.
I didn't know that sketch comedy was supposed to be dignified and politically correct. The lady is an easy target, what did they expect? I can't wait for South Park to have their take. Sarah Palin looks and sounds like the perfect hybrid of every cartoon mom on the show.
The only things I know about Palin is that the Democrats are running a sexist campaign against her. They are sexist. Did I mention that everyone is making sexist comments about Palin? She deserves your vote because she is a woman and the Democrats are sexist. That seems reasonable to me.
Lolz ur mom is sexist.
Now now. When Fiorina says "just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance" she's right.
Palin doesn't lack substance because she disagrees with Clinton. Palin lacks substance because she's ignorant of foreign policy, domestic policy, and economics.
And this relates to SF how? Are you really going to post something every time someone somewhere says something stupid?
HP once employed a few people living within the confines of the county, I believe. Perhaps some still do.
Carly got booted out of HP. why should I care what the witch says.
ooops. that was sexist.
"During her tenure, the market halved HP’s value and the company incurred heavy job losses. When Fiorina was asked by the Board of Directors to step down in 2005, the company stated that Fiorina had put in place “a plan that has given HP the capabilities to compete and win" and that HP "look[ed] forward to accelerating execution of the company's strategy".
Sounds like McPain Palin
it's not his fault. mark925 is from the (giggle) 9-2-5 =p
"Whatley's jokes offend you as a Jew?"
"No they offend me as a comedian"
Mark925, this relates to SF because she could be Vice President of the United States with a 1/3 chance of being President of the United States.
Do you make the connection yet?
tina fey for president!!!
Former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, a co-chair of the McCain presidential campaign and a chief economic surrogate for the GOP presidential candidate, said in a radio interview this morning that Sarah Palin doesn't have enough experience to run the Silicon Valley-based company she managed -- but ''that's not what she's running for.''
KTRS in St. Louis, Missouri, scheduled the interview with her this morning with host McGraw Milhaven, who asks Fiorina if she thinks Palin has enough experience to run Hewlett Packard.
''No, I don't,'' said Fiorina. ''But you know what? That's not what she's running for. Running a corporation is a different set of things.''
Jesus KeithFuckingMoon that is fucking scary. So, not enough experience to run a company of 75,000 employees (that was a guess), but enough experience to copilot a plane with 300 million passengers, the world's largest economy and in all fairness the balance of global power in its hands. Scary stuff indeed.
Ahh yes, the republicans once again try to frame the discussion. It's not that she doesn't have substance, it's that someone "portrayed" her that way and anyone that does so is a sexist. Granted, I'm not saying it's good framing but that's the jist.
All I can hope is that with what a shrill nut-job Sarah Palin comes off as, and other people like Carly continue to step up to defend her, in this case as another powerful and prominent woman but (un)fortunately a nut-job in her own right, that they spread enough feces on the tracks so that the train just slides off. The republicans are looking desperate trying to portray themselves as not being desperate.
But of course my use of nut-job in this context is *cough*code*cough* for *irrational female* so clearly I've traveled from from *being against the troops* town to sexistland. My depravity has no bounds.
"Jesus Keith Fucking Moon" is my new favorite cuss.
(heh, heh) All I can say is, Carly better get used to it...

Is it just me or is this campaign getting more surreal by the second?
re: KeithFuckinMoon
Fiorina tried for the save by saying later that none of the candidates, McCain included, has the experience to run a major corporation. Which only added ammunition to the Obama campaign's relentless pounding of the message that McCain isn't the right man to run an economy in crisis:
"If John McCain’s top economic advisor doesn’t think he can run a corporation, how on Earth can he run the largest economy in the world in the midst of a financial crisis? Apparently even the people who run his campaign agree that the economy is an issue John McCain doesn’t understand as well as he should."
Elly,
Trolls are trolls, no matter if it's on an online message board or with national media in a presidential nomination. At this point the only way for them to gain safe ground is to force everyone else off-balance and then step out of the fray, posturing as the voice of measured reason.
That and it's a pretty accurate reflection of the nature of the messiness, web of denial and the voices inside the heads of staunch republicans and their pundits; delivered to as entertainment by the equivalent of those parasitic sucker-fish on the sides sharks. It's surreal because it is surreal. Count yourself sane for recognizing it.
Fiorina's also completely ignoring the fact that Clinton was mocked pretty mercilessly in that skit, and they like her.
This isn't complimentary? Come on, Carly.
Liz Lemon for V.P.!
Yeah! I want to vote for the Lemon Party. oh wait. oh no.
Hey! Sarah Palin has substance! She went to 5 colleges in 6 years. I'm pretty sure that makes her a doctor...
Oh please. What exactly has Little Flower done for feminism lately herself? Funded a microloan to a woman's collective in the developing world? Spoken publicly against the Hillary nutcracker, or for reproductive rights? Enacted equal pay for equal work at HP when she was empowered to do so? If Fiorina is the one looking out for my female and feminist ass, I'm in trouble.
"[t]he portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin, and so in that sense, they were defining Hillary Clinton as very substantive, and Sarah Palin as totally superficial...sexist in the sense that just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance."
Uhhhh...Ok, so a skit on a comedy skit show (where as an impressionable tike I would often see a man in Speedos literally making out with a golden retreiver in a Calvin Klein spoof ad) where a woman is compared and contrasted to another woman, where the first woman was portrayed as, yes, superficial in contrast to the other woman who was portrayed as substantive is sexist. Two women. One smart. One, not so much. Sexist. Ok, got it now.
I don't know if the race-card has any legs left in it, but this sex-card has a great pair. Toned. Tanned. Yummy. The Repubs are gonna ride this sex-card til November and they're gonna ride it reverse cowgirl.
I'm ridiculously sexist (hello darlin') but I'm not voting for her because she preaches abstinence yet has a whore for a daughter. Can't manage a family of three, can't run the country. Simple as that. Oh, and she's a nazi robot from the future sent to kill the unborn child of Ryan Gosling and Spencer Pratt.
"Whats wrong with being sexy?" Nigel Tufnel
Would somebody just kick Fiorina in the balls and tell her we don't care to hear her opinion .... go find a public meeting with public comments to blab your asinine thoughts to .... Jesus, some people just don't know when to take the merry little golden parachute payment and live their lives quietly sipping margaritas in Los Altos Hills or wherever.
the skit was "sexist in the sense that just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance."
Sorry, that's not the definition of sexism. Pointing out someones "different views"- that's just judgment (or uh, humor). They are both women and they were both the subject of a COMEDY skit.
"Former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, a co-chair of the McCain presidential campaign and a chief economic surrogate for the GOP presidential candidate, said in a radio interview this morning that Sarah Palin doesn't have enough experience to run the Silicon Valley-based company she managed"
As I recall, neither did Carly.
Carly Fiorina is a muppet.
Internet proof:

Yes, Carly didnt, usually being an utter failure doesnt merit you enough to comment on these things unless you are campaigning for John McCain.
I am suprised people arent freaking out more about Palin and her refusal to cooperate with troopergate, its reminding me of those sad people on "cops" claiming they dont have drugs, when their car is full of them.
Lastly I am really sad that many women are moving over to support Palin, just because he has a vagina. I support candidates male or female who support equality, just because Barack didnt get Hillary to become VP doesnt mean hes sexist, we dont know what they discussed behind the scenes, maybe he was just avoiding Bill! BTW I like Hillary even if she spins a yarn once in a while...
