At least RSVP if you're not going to do your job start prosecuting criminals! At last night's Glen Park Community Meeting, impressively attended by 500 residents (You go, GP!), all invited officials showed up to speak to and/or show their support for the recently crime-inundated neighborhood - all except for Kamala Harris. Disappointingly, the San Francisco District Attorney didn't even send a representative to the meeting. Come on, Kamala. You can do better than that!
As reported by our very own RicardoSF, the subject came up several times during the meeting.
WHERE IS THE REPRESENTATIIVE FROM THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE? (they were invited, and did not attend)
What’s the heart of the issue? (INCREASE $$ FUNDING TO SFPD, to INCREASE STAFFING and GET THE D.A. TO PROSECUTE and HAVE THE MAYOR FUND THE SFPD BETTER.
PUT PRESSURE on the MAYOR and D.A. to prosecute criminals
The SF DISTRICT ATTORNEY, according to Bevan Dufty, WAS INVITED to this meeting but didn’t come. Dufty will call the D. A. tomorrow.
Thanks for sharing your notes with us, RicardoSF!

You have to find the criminals to prosecute them, the GP heathens are wiley. Plus, there are so many cop cars cruising the neighborhood how do they expect anyone to commit crimes in the first place?
@deadbrother
They are being found.
Also from last night's meeting.
I see Bevan Dufty campaigning outside the Balboa BART all the time.
And by that, I mean he seems to be all over the place. Does he have better time-management skillz than other elected officials? Is there some online course to recommend?
Deborah:
that looks to me like SF is just trying to emulate Norway's stance on prosecution. And there's nothing wrong with Norway.
"Man who assaulted woman jogging on O’Shaughnessy Street has been arrested in Golden Gate Park, he matches suspect in 6 of 12 recent home burglaries"
That's the guy who bit the jogging woman that Brock reported on? Wow, full circle!
we gave the sfpd a huge raise last year, so funding the sfpd is not an issue.
however, they can arrest people all they want but if the criminals get a wrist slap, then they will continue to commit crimes, and the police start to wonder what the point is.
the word gets out and suddenly you all live in a very expensive crime ridden slum with organic berries and progressives who care more about parties and decriminalizing human trafficking and prostitution than say, violent crime.
And then the progressives wonder why it is people are tired of their bullshit.
sometime a jogger looks like an organic berry, is all I'm saying
This is obviously somewhat biased but I know a few SFPD (including one retired on disability but really he was pushed out in his early 40’s)
These guys are pretty dedicated but they say the political environment is so toxic and the criminals are never prosecuted so morale is extremely low. good cops either leave, retire early or are pushed out
Chickens coming home to roast is all I have to say.
Also this commuter criminal thing is well known in the Bay Area for years
It seems to be getting more violent but I know of people who used to rent apartments in place like Lakeview for growing operations and others who were street level dealers but who lived in SM county.
Partly it was because they know San Mateo County is not PC
Kamala Harris was not present at her meeting because she was moderating a panel at the Commonwealth Club called "Youth and Guns" that addressed the issue of violence in America's Youth. Hmm. I would prefer her to be at the community meeting rather than talking about violence at a "prestigious organization".
