SFist Tonight

polyamorous%20dating.jpg

DORK SEX: Reach deep into your bag of holding, pull out your cleanest shirt with the cleverest open source one-liner on it, and head over to Polyamory Speed Dating. Really, this has disgusting written all over it. Enjoy. (And this is in Berkeley. Oh, don't act surprised.)

6:30 - 10:15 p.m. // Spud's Pizza & Beer (3290 Adeline) // $12-20

MUSIC: It's the best in late '90s/early '00s indie rock. Not to be missed are Built to Spill, Quasi, and Off Campus performing in SoMa tonight. (Added bonus: SFist Leanne will be working the room. Be sure to buy her a drink or three!)

9 p.m. // Slim's (333 11th Street) // $8

MUSIC II: "Standing with your arms crossed while nodding your head to guitar-based progressive post-rock probably won't do too much damage," brilliantly quips SFBG's Laura Mojonnier. And we couldn't agree more. So get your introspection on by catching sublime Mogwai's thick, electronic, guitar-heavy sounds. Fuck Buttons opens.

8 p.m. // Grand Ballroom, Regency Center (1290 Sutter) // $22.50

yes, the real damage at mogwai will be from the people who listen to the album and think "ok this will be some chill stuff, no problem" and leave the earplugs at home.

then you'll want to die halfway through because Mogwai comes from the My Bloody Valentine school of ear assault when it comes to their live shows.

I totally misread that as Polyamory Seed Dating.

i love doug martsch.

cool, I need a wife.
