LiveJournal user Jameth is asking readers to send him to Sarah Palin's Woodside Luncheon, happening on Thursday, Sept. 25th, in Woodside (SFist's official off-site headquarters. What?) at Tom Siebel's pad. And he needs your money, folks. What will your hard-earned money get him, you ask? Well, $1,000 will get him a moose burger and a glass of Tang, and for an extra $1,500 he'll get a McCain-Palin pin. So, if you feel like sending him a PayPal donation, you can do so here. (Oh, and if Jameth doesn't get enough cash by the RSVP deadline, he'll donate it all to No on Prop. 8.)

This is just wrong (and arrogant). There are hungrier people everywhere. Why aren't you asking for donations to the SF Food Bank, instead of this nonsense. A $1,000 donation will provide at least $9,000 of food for many, rather than a pathetic moose burger and glass of Tang for jameth.

True, there are a few things that would be better to spend money on. But there are much much more things that would be worse.
This might not be the BEST cause in the world, but I think it's good enough.

To get into this event, you will almost certainly have to be vetted by the Secret Service. I might donate just to see what the hell happens with that!
Just remember, all of you will be helping give John McCain and Sarah Palin money to defeat Barack Obama. Yeah yeah cute sending the blogger there, but still, that money is going to defeat everything most of you say you're for.
If you can live with yourselves if McCain wins with your bucks, fine. Just don't complain for 4 years when McSame and the Gang continue Bush's policies.
I like the the potential entertainment to cost ratio of giving $10 to this effort, but I dislike the idea of the McCain/Palin campaign getting $1000 from it.
