Heh: Chris Daly Makes High School Girl Cry
Mr. Nevius is steaming mad at SFist's number-one fan, Chris Daly. Why? Well, it seems that the altruistic SF Supervisor - kissed by the lips of God himself! - made a civic-minded teen cry. C.W. reports that during last week's Board of Supes meeting, "Amanda Wong, a junior at Lowell High, waited two hours for her chance at the podium during the public comment period, but was so frustrated when Daly first cut her time to one minute, then got up and left when she started to speak, that she burst into tears." Aw. Wong explained her emotional outburst, saying she "didn't mean to cry...I just kind of lost it. I thought they were supposed to listen to us." (Isn't that adorable?) Later on in the meeting, Bevan Dufty made some sort of dramatic exit, storming out of the room in a fit. Fierce. Update: Nevius is wrong? Fibber! Daly responds with what really went down.

Gavin Newsom owes a lot to Daly. If Newsom wants any ballot proposition passed all he has to do is make sure Daly is against it. Daly is so despised outside of his own district that it makes it a lock. What could be better?
According to Chris, a very different story than our man Devius "reports" -

She shouldn't sweat it, sounds like she was the only adult there.
CW invented the story of Daly getting up in the middle of the girl speaking, and he invented a quote that never happened of Dufty talking to Peskin. I guess at the Chron, it doesn't matter whether or not you're telling the truth, as long as you make Daly the bad guy. Regardless of whether you like the Supe or not, Nevius is incontrovertibly a lying sack of shit.
Where's the video archive on the SF Government TV station?
It should be online to view.
Nevius is a lying hack who wouldn't make it as a second-rate blogger. This time there were quite a few witnesses and SFGTV to demonstrate that his version was sheer invention. And speaking of hacks, Supervisor Dufty makes me feel nothing more than gay shame. He learned most of his corrupt bag of tricks while playing "neighborhood representative" for Willie Brown, Jr. What a weasel.
i want to go into city politics.
how does start this process of civil service and does it matter if one has a checkered past??
Supervisor Dufty seems to do a reasonable job of representing our district
Obvioulsy I don't like Daly, and I think he should have managed to climb above the high school sophomore level when addressing Nevius' mendacity in the public sphere, but Jesus! is there a bigger tool at the Chonicle than Nevius?
I want to see the video. Where's the tape ye blogger-journalists?
please standby.
The Nevius/Daly feud is the stuff of Brock's dreams. I say, go ahead and invent stories, CW -- it gives us something to discuss on SFist besides bike vs. car disputes. And if we talk enough about shit Chris Daly, he might come and post a comment here. Fuck you Chris!
Sybil, get out of the water.
Oh, Chron, you so silly!
Nevius might be a liar (or at least have very, very bad sources) but at least he's coherent, unlike co-"blogger" Willie Brown with his oddly liberal use of en-dashes.
Seriously, read his meanderings on Prada, Heath Ledger, how Noisome looks like Christian Bale, unlucky numbers for Asians, and something about "low-cut couches."

Those of you who defend Daly and demonize Nevius make me puke. Daly and Peskin have done more to harm this city and its citizens than any duo in history. At least Nevius attempts to show the reality behind the progressive smokescreen that SF politics has become.
Nobody has ever needed to invent a Chris Daly-acting-like-an-ass story, so ask yourself, why now? All you need to do is hang around City Hall for a week to experience him acting like the buffoon he is.
Methinks Daly has been watching Big Brother, using the term "throw under the bus." Who's your fave, CD, Jerry?
Really, who gives a crap what Nevius says? Has he ever, ever written anything better than mediocre?

Because you're Nevius, apparently. Who knows what goes on in that head. You know what the Peter Principle is, right?
And Daly shows the SFMOMA a thing or two about setting the record straight.
She goes to Lowell. Totally justified.
What I do know is that Daly is to the Left what Limbaugh is to the Right.
Devius is such an awesome nickname.
I also enjoy making Chris_Weekly vomit. I have these powers.
All I know is a high school girl who bursts into tears in public needs to "toughen up!!" as my father would say.
Seriously, she needs to curb that problem pronto if she's ever going to succeed in life.

BOMBARDMENT!
here's your clip

Ugh. Ain't lack of competition in the local media grand? If Daly is so bad that you don't need to make this stuff up, why start now?
Matt Smith over at SF Weekly did a great piece on Slick Willie's new column and just how unethical it is. What a waste of a good newspaper.

And to Mizz Wong, I'm quite sorry that real government isn't as civil as your AP Civics class at Lowell made it out to be. ::sob::
