Oh Sh*t!
While SFist is much to dainty to post such vile images of something so natural, fearless LiveJournal blogger Jameth isn't. See, ever since he's been working on Stevenson Street a few weeks ago, Jameth's has collected a harrowing image galley of the (presumably) human excrement dropped daily on the sidewalks of the SOMA not-so-hot spot. Warning: these images are graphic, depressing, and ickypoo. You've been warned.

Yes, don't read LJ while eating lunch, if Jameth is on your friends list. (It happened to me.)
The only thing that almost out numbers human feces piles in my work neighborhood (SOMA) is the number of puke puddles. Once during the winter I slipped and lost my balance on frozen vomit. Fortunately there were still enough chucks in it to provide traction so I didn't completely fall over.
yeah, he's going for it. More than I ever did and I live in Stevenson. I didn't think anybody cared.
It's always good to see people document this stuff. Maybe it'll embarrass city hall enough this time..who knows
Bless James for doing this. Mow more people get to see what we see every day. You might have missed the poop cart, and that was hard to find. I think I have most of them in one place now

the space between my building and the building next door (in the mission) is a prime location for twilight shitters. when i first saw it, i freaked out - was this my landlord's problem? or the city's? so i called 311 and they said, that if i put in a request, the city would come clean it up, and i said, uh, yeah, this is my request.
i had no idea they had a squadron of poop-cleaning vehicles devoted to the task.
Oh, those whacky homeless! I guess they have to shit somewhere. My suggestion is to have Chris Daly go down to Home Depot in Daly City (sigh) and buy hundreds of buckets to scatter throughout the city. Sure, they'll get stolen, but most will likely end up in the hands of the homeless, who will continue to use them as toilets. Downside: regular folk could never again buy a bucket off craigslist.
I thought I read somewhere that homeless people get free tokens for these JC Decaux toilets. Is that not true? At any rate, I doubt the bucket solution will work, as i see the hoboes pull their pants down right outside the free public toilet in my park and "do their business." In many instances, it appears to have little to do with toilet availability, at least in my neighborhood.
they have poop cleaning vehicles on Stevenson only because the Central Market CBD collects an extra tax and pays for it

that was just created last year. On top of that, there are industrial size tankers that roll down here once a day and blast the sidewalks with water...Those are city trucks
and it's still not enough, because crapper army keeps marching
Those should be framed and sent to our illustrious Stupor-visors.
Well congratulations, you've found people crapping on the street. That takes some talent James.
auweia1: do you really think that there's any city government official that isn't aware of the indigent problem on 6th?
zippy, I know they are aware.
I tried almost the same thing 8 years ago in the same place, and it got in the news, and it was cleaned up for a short time and then it all came back, again and again and again
this isn't anything new at all. It's been like this for over 30 years here.
It's still important tho, and affects a lot of people, even if city hall has severe ADD
