Farmer's Market Survives Newsom Threat, Now Faces New, Direr Peril

Market Photo 2

We were down at the Heart of the City Farmer's Market again today, and we were glad to see the sign above. Looks like the market managed to worm its way out from under the powerful Newsom thumb, and will continue to remain a nonprofit. Yay!

But, the other side of the sign revealed a tougher, more insidious threat to the market. Find out what it is after the jump!

Oh, those gays. Not happy enough to finally be able to marry like everyone else, unsatisfied with their entire celebratory month...they've forced the Farmer's Market to kneel to the homosexual agenda™ and close on Pride Sunday! What? Is nothing sacred? Now, instead of going down in the morning and stuffing our faces with fresh nectarines and the first tomatoes of the season, we'll be forced to watch all of those homosexuals be proud (and in parade format, no less!). It just goes to show that even the nearly-omnipotent Thumb of Newsom quails before the all-powerful homosexual agenda™!

Wait -- the city subsidizes the farmer's market? WTF?

Ah -- never mind, now I see -- the city WANTED to subsidize it but the market successfully fought back.

"Now instead of going down in the morning and stuffing our faces . . "

Wait, that will still happen. Just with the gays only . . hahaha

(btw, I'm gay so there!)

Direr? I know it's a word, but not one used by people with an interest in appearing intelligent. Illiterate soccer moms and local radio news personalities would use direr, but they also call their children names like Tyler, wear green jackets and vacation in Mexico, so they don't know any better. And to borrow from Ian Dury, they leave food particles in their teeth and hide in your laundry basket. So it's a big no on "direr" from this corner of the vegetable patch. But who cares? It's only our language.

the egg guy said that even tho the city isn't taking it over, the city now wants to charge 8,000 bucks a year instead of the 1 dollar the charge now

The gays are coming! the gays are coming!

So what you're saying is instead of fruit stands there'll be standing (or walking) fruits? Ha.Ha.

This is not really news is it? The Farmer's Market, the Library, and the Asian usually close during gay pride Sunday.

BTW, I'm a proud homo too.

Be sure to check out the Radical Faerie Forest at the UN Plaza. It's amazing what you'll see going on behind those tarped fences.
