CBS 5's Dana King Murdered, Set On Fire?

At first it sounded like CBS5 reporter Ken Bastida was reporting on the brutal murder of one of SFist's very favorite news anchor, the leggy and wildly fun Dana King. But he wasn't. It was someone else. Isn't that HILARIOUS?! But we wonder what behind-the-scene politics might have led to this on-air Freudian slip? By all means, feel free to speculate.

Oh, and this also brings up something we've been meaning to ask you: Now that Dennis Richmond is no more, who is your favorite local news anchor? And who would you like to see murdered, set on fire? (Anyone so much as thinks about writing Jan Wahl for the letter will get the finger-shaking of a lifetime.)

Sal Castaneda, hands down is the Best of The Bay.

That S.O.B., Jack Hammond from Comcast is the worst.

Ned Flanders Henry Tenenbaum is still pretty cool.

If only because of the hot, sticky sensations he draws from the SFist staff ... Dan Noyes.

Tom Sinkovitz, Pam Moore and Cheryl Jennings, by a long shot - can't choose one.

------------------
Pete Wilson was a long time favorite, rest his soul.

Wendy Tokuda is up there.

Catherine Heenan is very good at her job, but ultimately I find her very irritating.

Chris Murphy is douchey.

Belva Davis has always been a favorite. She now does KQEDs This Week in Northern California.

Dave McElhatton was good, in a quirky sorta way.

Pls put a bullet thru Gary Radnich's two eyes.

Would smash Laura Garcia or Gasia Mikaelien.

@ arizenheimer: i second that emotion.

That was one hell of a place to miss a pause. And BTW, as I've said before Plug1, keep Sal Castaneda away from your girlfriend/wife/f**kbuddy/escort/date/sister/BFF/BFF's wife/female co worker/cleaning lady/mother. He'll hit on anything in a skirt.

I like Sal, too. Skirt chaser, or not. I still like him.

The fact that he's a notorious skirt chaser makes me like him even more for some reason.

I love the way he appears to view his job and co-workers with such thinly veiled contempt.

Which is why I faithfully tune in and nominate him my favorite on air person.

bastida is a womanizer? this is most exciting news.

i demand to know more about our local on-air talent. spill it, people.

Hail Pam Moore.
Torch Mark Ibanez.

For the record, it's Sal Castaneda who is being accused of skirt chasing.

Ah, yes. I see now. (Sorry, Ken.)

Ken Bastida is well known for being a male lactator and has spoken at many of the MLOAC conferences.

Sal?!? A a skirt chaser, LMFAO!

He's spent many years hanging out in the gay bars in the East Bay, particularly the one and only gay bar in walnut creek ... which now is apparently called Club 1220.

Skirt chaser....LOLOLOL

*wipes the tears away*

ahhhh, a good belly laugh is good for the soul. thanks peeps.

@ brock: this took an ugly in turn in the best of ways. what great fodder your come up with.

agreed, lets get some specific skirt chasing tales by Mr. Castaneda, so i can determine if he can stand in for Gavin -- and i should attempt to invite him to my bachelor party.

and Gasia Mikaelien....yummy.

vernon glen always seems drunk to me and they always have to cut off his bizarre ramblings - but I like him.

tim goodman is technically a print guy, but sometimes appears on the air and is a pretentious twit who hates the very tv he is supposed to love. I would set him on fire and call it a reality tv special event. insult 2 injury.

You know who I just love? Jessica Aguirre. I love any woman who has gone under the knife so many times as to make her look like all the other women I love with cheek implants: Laura Kightlinger, Dolly Parton, Joan Rivers, Cher and of course Madame (sidekick puppet of Wayland Flowers.)

Of course if Ms. Aguirre hasn't actually gone under the knife then she should feel blessed to have a face that other women spend thousands of dollars on trying to achieve.

Wait. People watch television news? How quaint.

But seriously, how do you stand it? The banter, the line reading, the inane features, the onscreen graphics? I have so many better ways to lose a half hour daily that actually contribute to my sanity.

Hail Steve Paulsen (I know, he is only the weather guy)...unless Darya Folsom takes her top off...then hail her.

You know who I miss? Rigo Chacon. With the exception of Sal, no one on the air nowadays is capable of even reporting their location without stammering, commentizing, rambling on about something irrelevant, of flat out getting it wrong. Rigo could do the old who what when where bit better than anybody, and after his reports, you actually knew more than when you started.
