When Scientologists (Allegedly) Attack
Anonymous' protests just get more and more exciting. So much so that SFist will start every Monday morning with a weekend protest review. Mind-numbingly brilliant title TK.
Anyway, according to the lads trying to bring down the Church of Scientology with funny masks and regular weekend demonstrations typically held near the church's Montgomery Street branch, one very loud female was assaulted by a CoS member. Or so we're told. A tipster says:
During a protest Saturday night at the Hotel 480 around 10PM, an anonymous protester is grabbed by by the throat and shoved down sloped street towards heavy traffic. by a Scientologist. The protestor breaks away, and someone steps in to protect her. Cops intervene quickly. The same Scientologist later accuses the same anonymous protester of assault despite 5 eye witness accounts and video tape of it. Protester was minor and female.
The footage doesn't show the assault, only the harrowing moments after. An added bonus: Near the end of the video, the cinematographer of this video confronts a CoS member (?) and mentions that his wife was raped by a Xenu admirer. And the church, he says, covered it up. Oh my! Very exciting.

U R doing it wrong. Cops have the footage showing the actual incident. Anon girl will be fully vindicated. Scilons are going down. The cinematographer of the footage you saw is Tommy Gorman, a guy who grew up in Scientology; his wife (just a friend at the time) was indeed raped by a Scientologist, Gabriel Williams, who was then protected by the cult. What's with all the anti-"fag" and anti-Jew stuff on the Anonymous Encyclopedia Dramatica page? I don't like Scientology and am glad that they're protesting so adamantly, but I do like the gays and the Jews... I am so confused.

Encyclopedia Dramatica exploits stereotypes of these as well as various kinds of "white" "normal" "straight" etc. people -- all stereotypes are maximized and overblown to the point that they lose their charge. Thus, you'll now notice in the anti-Scientology Anonymous movement the use of "-fag" as a suffix denoting residence, occupation etc., e.g. writers = writerfags, artists = artfags, lawyers = lawfags, Berkeley people = Berkeleyfags, SF people = San Franfags, etc. etc.-- used freely among "straight" as well as gay people in Anonymous. Any actual racists who contribute to the Encyclopedia Dramatica site are swiftly banned (it's usually obvious because they are too serious and not funny).

what Catnarok said. The articles are ludicrously overblown in order to be funny. If you want a quick laugh I suggest reading the entry on San Francisco (NSFW, tiny penis halfway down page on right), then you might have a better feel for the site as a whole.

Please don't refer to a bloke with a video camera as a cinematographer. It takes a touch more training, talent and work than simply going from Best Buy to the nearest protest. Now I have to go and remove a band aid that's been on my knee for two days. Hey! I'm a surgeon.

What do you mean, Terryeo? I didn't have any trouble following the video. An account was given by the victim, an account was given by the witness who intervened, and the injury was shown. Oh, and don't miss the very clear shot of the license plate of the vehicle being driven by the criminal. It's at 8:32. The California plate reads 3VUE652.
I can't imagine how complete you expect an amateur video of an unplanned event to be, but if you're eager to see the video of the violence perpetrated by a Scientologist it's probably been taken as evidence. As members of the general public, we likely won't be seeing that video in the immediate future.
