Let's Hear It For Newsom's Make-Me-Governor Tour

israel_flag.jpg

It's been an incredible success, yes? He's gone to Israel in order to (allegedly) build a bridge between the Bay Area and Israeli business leaders. (See what you've wrought, Rainbow Groceries?) And according to his schedule, Newsom started out in NYC today, but will be in WeHo later this afternoon to accept some silly award. Behold:

9:45 AM (EST)
Mayor Newsom to be interviewed by Dana Goodyear for New Yorker magazine's conference: "Stories from the Near Future." Mayor Newsom will highlight San Francisco's environmental accomplishments and address San Francisco's position as a nationally recognized leader for environmental initiatives in a session titled, "The Green City." The IAC Building 555 West 18th Street New York City

5:30 PM
Mayor Newsom to receive award and make brief remarks at West Hollywood awards ceremony.
The Lot
1041 N. Formosa Avenue
Los Angeles, CA

This begs the question: is he flying commercial or private? We wonder. Rumor has it that you can blow rails in the Jetty. But that, of course, is a vile, sick, and totally untrue rumor.

See you at the Abby, Gav.

So this is how you indirectly go after the Hollywood $$$?

So one supposes his "environmental accomplishment" was jetting off to Hawaii after the Bay oil spill? Or was it hiking the salaries of his inside team by taking funds from environmentally-sound public transit? Or by vetoing the measure that would put the city's Environment Commission on a public access system so that the public could actually see what the Environment Commission is doing? Or maybe letting dozens of public housing units suffer with mold and toxics?

Gavin should be relegated to the society pages in the Nob Hill Gazette. He's just that relevant to the actual running of the city at this point.

newsom: he'll do for the state what he's done for San Francisco!

Jerry Brown in 2010!

First one to get a "Gavin Newsom Stands With Israel" fundraising glossy, post the scan, please.

Bullworth: (to audience) "They always put the big Jews on my schedule ..... you're mostly Jews, right? ..... three out of four of you?"

@generic: omg you're quoting bulworth! a film ahead of its time sadly

We weren't quite sure, we had a few doubts...

Props for the reference. ;-)
