SF Cannabis Awareness Day This Saturday
We had no idea.
In addition to the How Weird Street Faire, happening this Saturday from 11:11 a.m. to 5:55 p.m., and the Inline Skating Marathon (for reals?), which takes place on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m in Golden Gate Park, you can also celebrate the art of getting stoned. Dude.
This Saturday, May 3, is National Pot Smoking Day, or something like that. It takes place at Civic Center Plaza across from City Hall, featuring live music from the Pyrx Band (hip hop, Drum & Bass), Alphabet Soup (jam band, naturally), Bluesetta Band (blues), Band of Brothers, and more.
Also, Carole Migden and Mark Leno are scheduled to speak. Maybe they'll share a spliff and call a truce? That would be totally sweeeeeet.

I accidentally walked through Cannabis Awareness Day 2007 on my way home from work last year. It was strange and disconcerting. And smelly.

I dubious of this claim. Who, exactly, is bringing this kind bud? And why are they giving it away for free? Have we given up even pretending that this is illegal? And, most importantly, will there be a marijuana vending machine on hand?
I have bud and am planning on being there tomorrow just to smoke a bowl myself and be able to claim to whoever someday.. Yes I was there.
