Try Legal Weed! --What? You're Talking About Beer?

weed%20logo.jpgFederal alcohol regulators are asking Vaune Dillmann of Mount Shasta Brewing Company to stop producing bottle caps for his beer with the slogan "Try Legal Weed." See, apparently these alcohol regulators think that Dillmann is referencing the illegal marijuana (technically, it's still illegal, people -- let's not get in a snit) but really, oh my goodness, he's not!

Dillmann says the Mary Jane reference is to the town where the brewery is located: Weed, California. In fact, Dillmann "scoffs" at the notion that people think he's talking about la Ganja. He's had the word "Weed" (again, the town, not the plant) on all of his beers for yeeeears. He isn't, as the federal regulators are trying to suggest, "[misleading] consumers about the characteristics of the alcoholic beverage."

Heh. Sure. Try some Weed. As the site says, "Weed. A flavor yet to be discovered." Really. We're still talking about beer, here.
